Asylum Seeker & Refugee Support

Bright Path Futures resources are translated into the 13 languages currently most spoken by refugees and asylum seekers in the UK.

Our resources have been used as welcome packs for Asylum Seekers in hotel accommodation, sharing essential cultural and practical information through our book ‘Welcome to the UK’, and supporting self-led learning through translated editions of ‘Practise Your English’ books and teaching videos.

Amiko card posters in hotel lobbies support wellbeing in a highly stressful environment.

Coming soon: online training for volunteer teachers

Nationally we rely on a large number of volunteers and unfunded community organisations to help bridge the ESOL provision gap for asylum seekers and refugees.

Bright Path Futures have piloted training in teaching language and literacy to complete beginners with ESOL teachers, working with Kent County Council.

This self-access training will soon be available online to teachers and volunteers across the UK to help prepare people to tackle a really challenging teaching task – helping those with little or no English language or prior education to speak, read and write English.

Multi language book bundles

We offer multi-language book bundles for organisations to use with the people they support: Welcome to the UK and Practise Your English. Visit our shop for more details.

What our volunteers say:

“These are sentences that will be used over and over again – they are what English speakers use all the time. I absolutely would recommend the resources and have done so to my organisation. The books were received with much excitement and gratitude at the hotel. The books are extremely easy to use as they are translated into people’s own language, and they can learn at their own pace.”

“The learners now have a tool to access vital information that will help them prepare while they wait for ESOL classes to be available.”

“Increased confidence Is a benefit that will help them to move successfully from an asylum seeker through the process of becoming a contributing member of this new community they hope to be a part of.”

What our readers say:

“I am surprised that you acted on your own to translate things and help me in my own language – it is all very helpful. It’s all free and available. It helps us learn how to speak better, how to pronounce the words. So good – I love it.”

“I can learn from the books myself. They help me learn to understand people – everyday communication, away from the grammar rules.”

“The books are easy to read – they’re simple and easy to understand.”
